This course was opened in March '98 and is the latest jewel in Andalucia's already glittering golfing crown. Designed by Dave Thomas, Almenara is located slightly inland from Valderrama and from its lofty perch it overlooks both the Ryder Cup host club and the nearby The San Roque Club. The layout has two clearly defined sections, the first part through the wooded terrain so typical of the Sotogrande area and the second through more open scenery including a spectacular lake. Owned by Sotogrande S.A., Almenara has opened its own 150-room hotel and an extensive clubhouse complex.

Campo de 21 hoyos enclavados en la zona alta de Sotogrande a 500 metros del Club de Golf Valderrama y a cinco minutos de la playa, rodeado de alcornoques y pinos silvestres y de numerosos arroyos ademas de un gran lago natural que embellece el recorrido del campo.
